ASEFA features intercultural jams from the JudeoIslamic musics of North Africa and the Levant, in Arabic, Hebrew, and Ladino (Judeo-Espagnole). Led by ethnomusicologist, multi-instrumentalist, and composer Samuel Torjman Thomas, PhD, this ensemble traverses a wide sonic landscape of Mediterranean styles and cultures on vocals, oud, qanun, violin, darbuka, and more.
